12 Days of Kindness

Our Faith In Action Team has initiated a fun Christmas idea to encourage KINDNESS over the next 12 days as we prepare for the holidays.

Why 12 Days of Kindness?

  • Advent is a time of waiting and preparing for Jesus’s birth.
  • One way we can prepare for Jesus is by acting like Jesus – doing kind things for others.
  • Doing kind things or helpful acts bring unexpected happiness to others.

Please take a look at the calendar link below to see what we have planned!

12 Days of Kindness

Annual Students and Staff Christmas Lunch – Tuesday, December 18th

It’s that time of year again where Staff and Students will join together as a school community on Tuesday, December 18th and enjoy a Christmas Lunch.

We will be having turkey with all the fixings, catered in by Golfs Steak House. Please see Cash Online for more details.  Please complete your purchase by Friday December 14th so that we can provide the restaurant with our final numbers. We will not be able to accept any orders after this date.  We ask that anyone attending bring their own utensils, resealable plate, napkin and drink.

If you are able to volunteer to help serve the meal, please contact the office at 519 648 2832.  Thank you so much!

A coyote has been seen more than once in our town of Maryhill.  Although it HAS NOT been seen on school property, we are encouraging parents to discuss with your child the dangers of approaching unknown animals.  Thank you.

2018 Christmas Concert

This year our annual Christmas concert is scheduled for Thursday, December 20th.  With the collaboration of the school staff we have decided that it will be held during the day, right after lunch, at 1:00pm. We are hoping that with this time change, this will allow families to attend who are committed to extra curricular activities in the evenings and those with young families where late nights are tough to accommodate. We encourage all parents to extend the invite to grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.

Remembrance Day

Families, November 11th is a very important and meaningful date.  It offers a time for us to pause, reflect and show gratitude for the sacrifice our veterans have made, and continue to make, to ensure our safety and freedom.  Many countries in our world are not so fortunate.  As a school community, we will honour this day by holding a school prayer service.

During this time, students will be invited to the office to share how THEY are peace-makers in the world.  In addition, we will be recording names of family members and friends who have served in the military (past or present) and thereby giving their lives in service of others.  We are humbled by their sacrifice.  If you have someone in your family you would like us to pray for, please record the name in your child’s agenda and we will transfer to our book on the alter.  May you all enjoy the blessings of a free and just society.

Bag2School

Thank you so much to everyone for participating in our Bag2School Campaign! We were able to collect over 2000 pounds of textiles. That’s 2000 pounds we have been able to save from the landfills and repurpose! What a great step forward to preserving our environment and taking care of God’s creation.
